Do I need an appointment to talk to a budgeter?

No appointments are necessary at our drop-in clinics.  To see a budgeter in  our main office or at Work and Income, you should phone for an appointment. Times and phone numbers are on our Contacts Page.

What hours are you open?

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring copies of your last six month bank statements.

What training have your budgeters received?

Our Financial Mentors are all trained to the National Building Financial Capability Charitable Trust standard which is a comprehensive and in-depth training programme. The programme includes formal training, on-the-job training with supervision and ongoing, regular training sessions.

What training is available for me to attend?

We have Money Mates training happening throughout the year.  Please phone our office on 07 578 0969 to find out what might be available in your area.  All our training is taken by our Educators, Cody or Runa, and is free.

Can Tauranga Budget Advisory Service give me a food parcel?

We can issue you with a form that you can take to Tauranga Foodbank to receive a food parcel.

How may food parcels can I receive?

You can receive three. After that, you need to be working with a Financial Mentor before any more food parcels can be issued.

I can't repay my debts as they come due. What shall I do?

If you find yourself insolvent (unable to pay your bills as they fall due), please make an appointment to speak to one of our Financial Mentors. Our service is free and confidential, and we can help explain your options to you.  Contact us here

How do I find out about volunteering at Tauranga Budget Advisory Service?

Our service is a non-profit organisation and we always welcome the opportunity to take on new volunteers.  Our volunteer Financial Mentors all receive extensive training and support before and while advising clients. Our team are all friendly people with a want to help others – great people to work with!
